Hot Bagel is both a local institution, and has some of the best bagels in East Tennessee. The owners are great, but always busy. They're great to talk to, but don't always come across as overly welcoming. It's not their fault though! They've been there since before 5am making the delicious bagels. While the bagels are great and all, be sure to get a bagel sandwich. Almost everything on the menu is good. The salami melt is particularly delicious. A lot of high schoolers come in for pizza bagels, which are exactly as they sound. They're coated in sauce and cheese. If you get one, ask for extra cheese. You may hate yourself, but boy is it worth it. The best thing is the breakfast bagel though. Get the sausage, egg, and cheese and ask for it to be on a blueberry bagel. It sounds a bit odd, but you can thank me later.

a MUST for bagel sandwiches for breakfast! Homemade bagels, great coffee, and easy going nature of the host.

I think this place has potential to a spot where I would come weekly. I was once here a long time ago and ordered their breakfast bagel, and I remember it was good. This time though, I had a chance to try out one of their Paninis. And well, lets say it was pretty good. I ordered the Gratzzi I believe was what it was called. In it was a good amount of food. Salami, Tomatoes, an italian dressing, mayo, onions, and well a pretty sizy portion of meat topped off in a ciabatta sort of bread. Long story short, for about $7-8 bucks, it was worth it. Especially for the size of the paninis as well as getting the amount of food that came in it. Great place for lunch as well as breakfast as they had a plethora of options of the type of bagels you could get. I think the next time I come here though I will definitely try out their Philly Cheesesteak.

All time favorite bagel spot. A friend from New York says they're as close to true NYC bagels as she's found around here. Kids love their baked goods, too.

Can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews. Best bagels out side of new york city and even in new york city they are equivalent not really better. They also make great sandwiches and a pizza bagel that is SO good. Also bake french bread that is very good. This is the place to go for bagels.

Amazing to have such good bagels in Oak Ridge, TN. They have lots of baked goods other than bagels too. I picked up one of their stollen (German fruitcake - much better than it sounds) for Christmas this year and it was a huge hit - this will become a holiday tradition in our house.

Hot Bagel has the best bagels in Oak Ridge, baked fresh in the shop every morning. The shop, in the Manhattan Place shopping center, usually seems to be full, mostly with regulars. I'm not a regular at this establishment (it's too far from my workplace to stop by there in the norming), but I do like the bagels. I like their bagels plain and unadorned, especially their "everything" bagel. Bagels are also offered with the traditional cream cheese, and they have a list of several sandwiches that you can have made to order on the bagel of your choice. Morning bagels go with morning coffee, and Hot Bagel has that, too. It's good coffee, but people who (like me) prefer our coffee on the strong side may be disappointed. UPDATE: In November 2009 they announced that they're opening in the evening 3 evenings a week (Tues-Wed-Thurs, I believe).
